Rodney Greene was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. His first introduction to music came at the age of 9 years old while learning to play the violin.

One day his dad, who was also a musician and vocalist, brought home a set of drums which Rodney started playing and eventually enjoyed the challenge of that instrument.

As a teenager he began hanging out with other musicians, one of whom was a bass player. He’d go to his band rehearsals and gigs and began to love the deep percussive driving tone of that instrument. Soon after he saved enough money and bought his first bass guitar and learned how to play well enough to play with several local bands.

As time went by Rodney joined several Rock, Latin and R&B cover bands as a bass player and fill-in keyboardist playing the local club scene. "Playing other people’s music was great, but I really wanted to express my own artistic creativity and began writing and recording my own music".

After years of submitting music to several major record labels with no success Rodney decided to start his own independent record label and production company namely - GreeneStreet Records.

In 2003 he self-produced and released his debut album entitled 'Nice n Slow'. This was followed by his sophomore album release in 2011 called 'Meditation Of My Heart' which was also self-produced with Rodney playing most of the instruments and programming.

Rodney Greene also enjoyed a very successful career working and traveling the world as a Senior Executive VP in the corporate business world for over 25 years as well as being a University Professor teaching Business Management Courses.

However in 2020 he felt it was time for a change and during the height of the Covid19 pandemic he decided to focus solely on his music career on a full time basis which has been very rewarding.

Rodney's advice to other up-and-coming musicians would be :- ' Never give up on pursuing your dreams as you never know, one day they just might come true. '

Rodney is currently working on his third album which is scheduled for release some time this year in 2022. He has released a single off the album which features Billboard's Smooth Jazz Chart topping saxophonist Jackiem Joyner who is a musical icon in his own right.

Rodney’s music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Youtube, iHeart and other media outlets.

Rodney's single ' Real Close ' is featured on STREETJAZZ Show No. 969 :-
