Jimmy Lopez is a Pianist, Guitarist, Composer, Arranger and Producer and his musical background is varied with a wide range of styles and genres.

His musical training and experience lends itself to many different musical settings utilizing his dynamic skillsets as a Musician, Composer, Arranger or Producer. These include Rock, R&B, Pop, R&B, Reggae, Hip Hop, Salsa, Smooth Jazz, Contemporary Jazz and Latin Jazz. This flexibility of vocations and genres means that he is always in high demand.

Jimmy has performed and arranged for many of today's top artists in his native New York, in Puerto Rico, in Philadelphia and in Miami.

Previously he worked at the renowned Ellen Stewart's La Mama ETC Off Broadway Theater Club for 3 years where he arranged and performed for many of their productions including plays and concerts.

He has performed at many of the major and iconic venues in New York including The Village Gate, Café Wha (MacDougal Street, NYC), Bill Graham's Fillmore East, The Cheetah, The Bottom Line, The Blue Note and The Café A GoGo and performed and produced artists such as saxophonist Tony White (10,000 Maniacs, Billy Preston), flautist Art Webb (Ray Barreto), percussionist Pablo Batista (Grover Washington Jr and Alicia Keys) and he has worked with Grammy Award winning producer David Ivory (The Roots) on many CD projects.

Jimmy was the co-creator and founder of the 16 piece Latin Soul ensemble Cintron for 12 years alongside veteran percussionist Edgardo Cintron and vocalist Rocco DePersia, he was the keyboard player and musical director for the group and was pivotal to their production, arranging and engineering of virtually all of their recordings at that time including their iconic recordings Absolutely, Back In The Day and Latin Soul.

His string and horn arrangements, coupled with his ability to seamlessly blend Caribbean, Jazz and R&B influences within Cintron’s distinctive blend was synonymous to those who were familiar with the group’s synergetic Latin Soul fusion sound.

Showcase Artist - Jimmy Lopez,, New York

In 2015 Jimmy co-wrote the ballad, and also created the video for, This Song Is for My Brother, a beautiful testament to his late friend and former soulmate, Noel 'Peachy' Cintron.

During the last decade he has been active in his studio producing and arranging for numerous artists including Angela DePersia, Tony White, Bombplena (from Puerto Rico) and as arranger of Cintron's 'Suavecito' track which has attracted more than 1.5 million views to date on YouTube.

Jimmy’s latest CD project is entitled Things I Love released on the Global Soul record label with 11 original tunes penned by Jimmy himself which features his long time friend, musical cohort and label mate Tony White as his featured soloist.

Jimmy Lopez has appeared at numerous national and international festivals throughout a stellar career to date including :- Cape May Jazz Festival, Bahamas Jazz Festival, Bethlehem PA Jazz Fest, Puerto Rico Jazz Fest, Long Beach Jazz Festival, The Knitting Factory NYC, SOB’s NYC, The Cutting Room NYC, Theatre of The Living Arts, Philadelphia PA, Chris's Jazz Café, Philadelphia PA and The Viper Room-LA CA.

A track from Jimmy's latest album entitled 'Things I Love ' (release date 10/21) is featured on our JazzNet247 Auditorium Show 003.
